Black or Unreadable Course Menu

STUDENTS: If you see a BLACK COURSE MENU when you open your Blackboard course site, contact your instructor and say that the directions to fix this problem are on the "For Instructors" tab and also inside Bb Help.

INSTRUCTORS: If you see a BLACK COURSE MENU when you first open your Blackboard class site . . .
look at the upper right for the "Theme Picker" icon, just left of the "Edit Mode" switch.
It looks like this:

Click that icon and select "Default" (or any of the more colorful choices), and all will be well.

For more color choices, open Customization > Teaching Style, and look for the section titled "Select Menu Style."

Note -- When you make this change, it may not "stick" for the display in your current session until you click the "refresh" button atop the course menu. That button looks like this:
